1. Who we are
Prep Thamizha ("we", "us") provides the Prep Thamizha app for TNPSC Group 4 exam preparation. Contact: prepthamizha@gmail.com
2. Information we collect
- Account: when you sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication (Google) receives your name and email address. We do not use your profile picture.
- User ID: a unique Firebase ID that links your data to your account.
- Display name: shown on the leaderboard. It starts as your Google first name (or, if you have none, the part of your email before the @). You can change it in the Me tab.
- Selected exam: the exam you choose in the app.
- Device ID: a random ID the app creates on your phone, used to allow one signed-in device at a time.
- Practice activity: questions attempted, whether answers were correct, bookmarks and streaks.
- Purchase records: Google Play processes your payment. We store the purchase token, product, plan, amount, exam and start/expiry dates. We never see or store card or UPI details.
- Feedback: if you send feedback, we store the message, category, your email and your selected exam.
3. What we do not collect
Location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, advertising ID, analytics or crash-reporting data.
4. How we use it
To run the app, show your progress, unlock Pro, verify subscriptions, limit sign-in to one device, show the leaderboard, and answer feedback. We do not send marketing emails. Study reminders are local notifications on your phone.
5. Leaderboard
Other users of the same exam can see your display name, accuracy and number of attempts. They cannot see your email or user ID.
6. Who handles your data
Firebase/Google (sign-in), Supabase (database), Google Play (payments), Render (server hosting). They act on our behalf. We do not sell or rent your data.
7. Security
Data is sent over HTTPS and stored in Supabase with encryption at rest. Our server requires a valid sign-in for personal data.
8. Deleting your account
Open the Me tab and choose Delete Account. Your account is paused for 2 days (sign in again to cancel). After that your profile, practice activity, bookmarks, streaks, feedback and sign-in account are deleted, usually within 3 days. You can also email us. We keep purchase records with your user ID removed, for accounting and tax reasons. Google Play keeps its own billing records, and our hosting provider may keep server logs for a limited time. Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it in Google Play > Payments & subscriptions. Reset Progress in the Me tab deletes only your practice data. 9. Children
Prep Thamizha is for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.
10. Free Pro period
Pro features are free for all users until 15 December 2026. No payment is taken during this period.
11. Changes
We will update the date above when this policy changes.
